Congress Passes Fiscal Year 2010 DHS Appropriations Bill
Fairfax, Va., Oct. 22, 2009... On October 20, the Senate passed H.R. 2892, the Fiscal Year 2010 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. This legislation will fund the U.S. Department of Homeland Security until September 30, 2010. The House passed this legislation on October 15 and the president is expected to sign it into law.

The bill will double funding for the SAFER Grant program and include a small increase for the U.S. Fire Administration. The bill also restores much of the Administration’s proposed 70% cut to the FIRE Grant program.
